There need not be one person you can tell everything. Fill in specific options rather than a general ‘someone in the family’.
| Situation | Whom or which service I will approach | How I will contact them |
|---|---|---|
| I want to share joy or an ordinary worry. | ||
| I need help with a practical step. | ||
| I need to discuss health or psychological difficulties. | ||
| The first person cannot help or responds poorly. |
You can begin: ‘I need to discuss something. Do you have time today?’ In an urgent situation, it is better to say directly that you need help now.
In immediate danger, do not use the table as a waiting list of people you must all try first. Call emergency help.
